The Approach
Most approaches work at the conscious level — breathing techniques, thought patterns, coping strategies. These can help. But unwanted patterns don't live at the conscious level. They live in subconscious processes your mind has built up over time, often years ago, running beneath your awareness.
Hypnotherapy works differently. In a relaxed, focused state, we can access those processes and begin to change them at the root — not just manage the surface once it's already there.
And crucially — it's solution-focused. We acknowledge what's there, but we don't dwell in it. Every session moves you deliberately toward where you want to be.

Common Misconceptions
Hypnotherapy is one of the most misunderstood therapeutic approaches around. Here's what it actually is.
One of the most persistent myths, largely thanks to stage hypnosis and Hollywood. In reality you remain completely aware and in control throughout. Nobody can make you do or say anything against your will — if a suggestion doesn't feel right, your mind simply won't accept it.
Actually the opposite is true. Hypnosis works best with people who have strong focus and active imaginations. The more intellectually engaged and open you are, the more effectively you can use it.
This is perhaps the biggest misconception of all. Hypnosis is a natural state — one you already enter every day without realising it. What I do in sessions is teach you how to access and use that state deliberately. It's a skill, and like any skill, it gets easier with practice.
